LOGAN, Utah - Aggie women's basketball team has selected their captains for the 2010-11 season. The team will be led by senior guards Amber White and Alice Coddington and redshirt junior forward Ashlee Brown.
White, a native of San Leandro, Calif., scored in double figures 23 times last season, including scoring over 20 points twice. White also led the team and was 10th in the WAC in scoring averaging 11.6 points per game. For her efforts, she was named all-WAC second team. White was named to the all-WAC second-team in the pre-season media poll. This season White has scored in double figures twice.
Also leading the way for USU this year will be Coddington a Canberra, Australia native. As a junior Coddington set a Utah State record for most steals in one game tabbing 13 against Weber State (Dec. 22) and also led the WAC in steals with 75. Coddington already has 11 steals on the 2010-11 season.
The third captain for the Aggies will be Chandler, Ariz. native, Brown who transferred from UC Santa Barbara and sat out during the 2009-10 year after for transfer regulations. So far this season, Brown leads the Aggies with 11.8 points per game, and .429 field goal percentage and averages steals per game.
White, Coddington and Brown will lead the Aggies in action Saturday, Nov. 27, at Weber State in Ogden, Utah at 2 p.m.
