LOGAN, Utah - Utah State football fans can bid on an autographed head football coach Gary Andersen game ball from the USU-BYU game, with auction proceeds to benefit the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) Coaches Foundation charitable causes.
Fans can bid now on this official game-used football from the Aggies' 31-16 win over BYU on Oct. 1, 2010, autographed by Coach Andersen, with the added sentiment, "Go Aggies!" The auction closes on Thursday, Dec. 16 at 1 p.m. (MT).
CBS Interactive is again working with AFCA to help benefit the AFCA Foundation Charities - American Football Coaches Foundation.
The AFCA, founded in 1922 by Amos Alonzo Stagg Amos (August 16, 1862 - March 17, 1965) was a renowned American collegiate coach in multiple sports, primarily football, and an overall athletic pioneer. He was born in West Orange, N.J., and attended Phillips Exeter Academy. The AFCA has more than 10,000 members from all levels of the profession. According to its constitution, the AFCA was formed in part to "maintain the highest possible standards in football and the coaching profession," and to "provide a forum for the discussion and study of all matters pertaining to football and coaching."
