LOGAN, Utah - Fresh off a win in just its third home match of the season, Utah State volleyball returns to the road, heading to Reno, Nev., to resume Mountain West Conference action facing Nevada on Saturday afternoon, Oct. 19. First serve from Nevada's Virginia Street Gym is set for 3 p.m. (MT).

The Aggies have an 11-7 overall and 4-3 MW mark, after sweeping Utah Valley in a non-conference match Tuesday night. Nevada fell to 2-17 and 0-7 in MW action after dropping a five-set match to Boise State Thursday night at home.

Junior outside hitter Rachel Orr (Thatcher, Ariz.) leads the Aggies with 3.38 kills per set, adding 2.35 digs and 0.62 blocks per set. Sophomore opposite hitter Elle Brainard (Saratoga Springs, Utah), added 2.91 kills and 0.94 blocks per set. Senior middle blocker Alyssa Everett (Perry, Utah) and junior middle blocker Kaitlyn VanHoff (Draper, Utah) share the team-lead in blocking, both with 1.26 blocks per set.

Running the Aggies' offense is junior setter Paige Neves (Otto, Wyo.,) who dishes out 10.18 assists per set, while fellow junior libero Ashlan Rogers-Court (Highland, Utah) tops the team with 4.00 digs per set as well as leading the Aggies with 0.25 service aces per set, 17 on the season, while Neves adds 15 aces (0.24 saps).

The Wolf Pack have three players averaging over 2.0 kills per set, led by junior middle blocker Tessa Lea'ea with 2.84 kps on a team-best .273 attack percentage, also leading Nevada with 1.15 blocks per set. Freshman setter Lyndsey Anderson distributes 8.90 assists per set, while senior setter Dana Holt has an 8.29 aps average. Following Saturday's match, the Aggies then return home to host San Diego State on Thursday, Oct. 24 and UNLV on Saturday, Oct. 26. Both matches start at 7 p.m.

Utah State volleyball tickets are available by contacting the USU Ticket Office at the Dee Glen Smith Spectrum or by phone by calling 1-888-USTATE-1 or (435) 797-0305.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and the Utah State volleyball team wants to help by raising money for Logan Regional Hospital Foundations's Breast Cancer Services. Pledges are now being gathered for every dig the Aggies make during their six home matches in October as part of USU's "Dig for a Cure" campaign.

For each dig (a defensive move made to control a spiked ball) the Aggies are asking for a donation of $0.25. If the Aggies record 200 total digs in the six matches, a pledge of $0.25 will result in $50. Half of this donation will go to the Logan Regional Hospital Foundation to assist in Breast Cancer Services while the other half will be used to support the USU Volleyball team. Pledges can be made in any amount and flat donations are also accepted and appreciated. Pledge and donation forms will be available at the matches at the marketing/promotions table on the west concourse of the Dee Glen Smith Spectrum.

Any pledge or donation received will enter the fan's name into a drawing which will take place the last home match in October, on Thursday, Oct. 31 vs. Wyoming. Prizes include: T-shirts, volleyballs and team photos. Come cheer on the Aggies during their October matches and keep track of their digs to help them "Dig for a Cure." For more information or to donate, contact USU Assistant Coach Taubi Neves at taubi.neves@usu.edu or 435-797-2063, or go to: http://bit.ly/RtaUKK.
