AUSTIN, Texas -

After significant weather delays, Utah State track and field finished the second day of the first round of the NCAA Outdoor Championships here Friday with senior sprinter Will Henry and sophomore high jumper Chari Hawkins advancing to the NCAA Finals, which will be held in Eugue, Ore., from June 5-8.

Henry finished 12th in the 100-meter dash finals with a time of 10.60, while Hawkins tied for third-place in the high jump, clearing a height of 1.79m (5-10.50), a mark that ranks tied for second all-time in school history. Hawkins had already qualified for the NCAA Finals in the heptathlon.

The Aggies had several high jump competitors along with Hawkins. Sophomore Mariah Thompson finished 14th with a height of 1.75m (5-08.75). Sophomore Rachel Orr tied for 15th at 1.70m (5-07.00), while classmate Jodi Williams finished 32nd, clearing a height of 1.65m (5-05.00). Senior Bri Campbell did not clear the bar. Thompson's mark of 1.75m ranks tied for the eighth-best mark in school history.
