Oct. 9, 2014 LOGAN, Utah - Utah State (6-4-2, 2-1-1 MW) is celebrating Homecoming with a pair of matches this weekend, starting with San José State on Friday, Oct. 10 at 3 p.m.

As former members of the Western Athletic Conference, Utah State and San José State have met several times in the past. Overall, the Aggies lead the series, 6-2-2. Last season, Utah State traveled to San Jose where the Aggies won, 2-0.

This season, San José State is 3-6-6 overall, with an 0-3-1 MW record. Logan will be the third stop of a four-match roadtrip for the Spartans, as they are coming off a 2-1 loss at Nevada and a 3-0 loss at UNLV. Junior forwards Gabriella Strange and Lupita Estrada along with senior forward Kareli Rodriguez lead the Spartans in scoring, as each have two goals and one assist. Lauren Hanson is in her first year at the helm of the San José State program.

Senior midfielder Lexie Morgan and sophomore forward Lexie Morgan lead the Aggies in scoring with three goals each, while senior forward Ambryn McCcallson, sophomore midfielder Jayne Robison and senior defender Taryn Rose each have two. In the goal, junior Jeannie Woller has allowed just 13 goals this season, adding 38 saves for a goals against average of 1.06.

This weekend is Utah State's annual Homecoming celebration. Along with the soccer team's home events, USU volleyball and football will also be in local action. Volleyball is set to host San José State on Thursday, Oct. 9 at 7 p.m. and Nevada on Saturday, Oct. 11 at 2 p.m, both in the Wayne Estes Center Football hosts Air Force in its first Mountain West game of the season. Kickoff from Romney Stadium is set for 8:15 p.m. with the game being televised on ESPNU.

The Aggies will conclude their four-match homestand on Sunday, Oct. 12 against Fresno State. Kickoff is set for Noon. Utah State will then be back on the road on Friday, Oct. 17 at San Diego State, followed by playing at New Mexicon on Sunday, Oct. 19.
