LOGAN, Utah - Utah State will resume its Mountain West slate when the Aggies travel to San Diego State on Thursday, Oct. 15, and Nevada on Saturday, Oct. 17.
The weekend represents two sides of a coin for Utah State as the Aggies have lost three straight on the road against San Diego State, but have won each of the last nine matches against the Wolf Pack. Nevada is one of three teams in the Mountain West, joining Air Force and San José State, that Utah State has beaten in every match since joining the league in 2013.

Looking at Utah State
Utah State enters the weekend with an overall mark of 5-15, including a 1-5 record in conference play after picking up its first Mountain West victory in a 3-0 sweep of San José State last weekend.
The Aggies are led offensively by their outsides in junior Kaylie Kamalu and sophomore Rachel Gale. The duo are averaging 3.14 and 3.10 kills per set and have totaled 226 and 220 kills, respectively. Junior setter Erica Moscoso has directed the attack over the last several games, returning from an injury that kept her out 11 matches, and is averaging 7.38 assists per set. Utah State is coming off its best offensive showing the season, hitting .309 (42-8-110) against San José State, but have hit .157 (789-406-2,446) overall on the year.
Defensively, junior libero Hannah Gleason is among the leaders in the Mountain West with 4.18 digs per set, to rank sixth in the league. In all, Gleason has totaled 301 digs so far this year, recording double digits in all but four matches. Redshirt sophomore middle Carly Lenzen paces the USU block, with 66 and averaging 0.92 per set.
Scouting San Diego State
San Diego State will enter the match on Thursday night with an overall mark of 5-13, including a 2-4 ledger in the Mountain West. The Aztecs snapped a four-match losing streak with a 3-2 victory over Fresno State in their last outing.
SDSU has been led by a trio of hitters this year, all averaging better than two kills per set in freshman outside Alexandra Psoma (2.50 kps), redshirt freshman middle Deja Harris (2.44 kps) and junior middle Baylee Little (2.21 kps). Junior setter Hailey Jones directs the attack, totaling 486 assists and averaging 7.97 per set. Overall, San Diego State has hit .155 on the year with 768 kills on 2,194 attempts and 428 errors.
Defensively, SDSU has allowed opponents to hit .238 with 778 kills on 2,078 attempts and 283 errors. Sophomore libero Devyn Pritchard leads the defense with 143 digs, averaging 3.04 per set and Harris leads the block with 63, averaging 1.02 per set.
Last Time Against San Diego State
Utah State women's volleyball was held to a season-low 24 kills on the road on Nov. 22, as the Aggies dropped a 25-15, 25-20, 25-18 decision at San Diego State. With the loss, USU trails the Aztecs, 8-5-1, in the all-time series.
Scouting Nevada
Nevada will host Boise State on Thursday before welcoming the Aggies to Reno on Saturday afternoon. The Wolf Pack are currently 7-11 on the year and 2-4 in the Mountain West with wins over Wyoming (3-2) and Air Force (3-2).
Nevada has hit .172 (798-392-2,355) on the year and is led by junior right side Madison Morell and sophomore outside Madison Foley with 222 and 214 kills, respectively. Senior setter Taylor Rothfuss and junior setter Lyndsey Anderson have shared the load at setter, logging 432 and 206 assists and averaging 9.60 and 8.58 assists per set, respectively.
Defensively, senior libero Kara Kasser leads the team in digs with 218, averaging 3.30 per set. Senior middle Sam Willoughby leads the Wolf Pack block with 62 on the year, averaging 0.94 per set. Opponents have hit .213 (821-340-2,258) against Nevada this season.
Last Time Against Nevada
Utah State jumped out to early leads in each of the third and fourth sets and road the momentum to a 25-20, 17-25, 25-16, 25-14 victory over Nevada on the road on Nov. 6. The win was the seven straight for the Aggies over the Wolf Pack, but Nevada owns the all-time series advantage 20-19.
Nifty 150
Utah State head coach Grayson DuBose recorded his 150th career victory at the helm of the Aggies with a 3-1 win over Eastern Kentucky on Sept. 19. DuBose is 151-140 all-time over the course of 10 years at USU.
Home Grown
Utah State has five Utah products on the roster in freshman libero Tasia Taylor (Taylorsville/Taylorsville HS), sophomore right side Kayla DeCoursey (Farmington/Viewmont HS), junior outside Kaylie Kamalu (Kaysville/Davis HS), sophomore libero Maddie Day (North Logan/Sky View HS) and sophomore outside Rachel Gale (Lindon/Pleasant Grove HS).
No Place Like Home
Utah State has had a winning record at home every year under head coach Grayson DuBose. The Aggies are 69-41 overall on their home court under DuBose.
Glass is One-Thirds Full
Utah State returns 31 percent of its total kills this season. Leading the way is junior outside Kaylie Kamalu, who finished third on the team last season with 232 kills.
Best to Start Quickly
Utah State is 5-2 this year when winning the first set. The Aggies are 0-13 on the year when losing the opening set.
Double-Digit Digger
Junior libero Hannah Gleason has recorded double-digit digs in all but four matches for the Aggies this season. The total includes nine matches with more than 15 digs and five matches with 20 or more digs.
Leader of the Pack
Utah State has never lost to Nevada since joining the Mountain West prior to the 2013 season. The Aggies are currently riding a nine-match winning streak against the Wolf Pack.
Senior Moments
Utah State's 2015 roster does not include any seniors. The squad is made up of three juniors, six sophomores and four freshmen.
Summer in Europe
Sophomore outside Rachel Gale was a member of the Mountain West All-Star team that finished third at the World Volleyball Challenge in Pula, Croatia over the summer.
Growing Up Quickly
Each of Utah State's four freshmen have had immediate impact for the Aggies, with defensive specialist Tasia Taylor appearing in every set this year, middle Lauren O'Brien appearing in 56 sets, Kassidy Johnson appearing in 58 sets and outside Simone Gibeau appearing in 54 sets.
Picked Eighth
Utah State was selected eighth in the annual Mountain West Preseason Coaches' Poll, garnering 39 points.
On the Court and in the Classroom
Utah State was recognized with the 2014 American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Team Academic Award. The honor recognizes teams that have maintained at least a 3.30 cumulative grade point average during the school year.
Lenzen Named to TTU All-Tournament Team
Sophomore middle Carly Lenzen was named to the Texas Tech Fall Invitational all-Tournament Team, finishing the weekend with 15 kills, hitting .389 with only one error on 36 attempts. Lenzen also tallied an ace in each match and logged six digs and six blocks during the tournament.
Gleason Named to Gossner Invitational All-Tournament Team
Junior libero Hannah Gleason was named to the Gossner Invitational all-tournament team after logging double-digit digs in two of three games for Utah State. The performance included a career-high 25 against Middle Tennessee.
Gale Named to USC Classic All-Tournament Team
Sophomore outside Rachel Gale was named to the USC Classic all-tournament team after leading the Aggies with 23 kills over the three matches. Over the course of two days, Gale hit .151 (23-10-86) and recorded 13 digs, four blocks, three service aces and three assists.
Gale Named to UNC Classic All-tournament Team
Sophomore outside Rachel Gale was named to the Northern Colorado Invitational all-tournament team after recording double-digit kills in each of Utah State's matches during the weekend. Gale led the Aggies with 14 kills against Northern Colorado and finished the tournament with 42 kills, hitting .154 (42-21-136), and adding 13 digs, three aces and three blocks.
Mountain West Leaders
Utah State outside hitters Kaylie Kamalu and Rachel Gale are among the top-10 of the league in kills per set with 3.14 (seventh) and 3.10 (eighth), and points per set with 3.60 (eighth) and 3.46 (10th), respectively. Freshman setter Kassidy Johnson is seventh in assists per set, averaging 7.34. Junior libero Hannah Gleason is sixth in the league in digs per set, averaging 4.18.
Injury Bug Bites
Utah State has had its fair share of injuries in 2015 with junior setter Erica Moscoso missing 11 matches, sophomore opposite Lauren Anderson missing 15 matches and sophomore opposite Kayla DeCoursey also missing 14 matches this season.
