Oct. 29, 2015 LOGAN, Utah - Utah State soccer (10-8-1, 5-5-0 MW) closes the 2015 regular season Friday, Oct. 30 in a home match against Boise State (7-9-3, 5-5-0 MW). The Aggies and Broncos will battle to clinch a spot in the Mountain West Tournament, beginning at 3 p.m.
This season's Mountain West action will continue to be broadcast through the Aggie Digital Network and the Mountain West Network, powered by Campus Insiders. Live stats and play-by-play information will be available through GameTracker, while updates will also be provided through the team's social media outlets.
Friday's match is the second of two Utah State doubleheader days featuring the soccer and football teams. Following the Aggies' match against Boise State, the football team will host Wyoming at 8:15 p.m. on ESPN2. Due to the football game that evening, parking for Friday's match will be limited. The parking lots at Chuck and Gloria Bell Field, as well as the Stan Laub Indoor Training Center, will both be $10 paid lots. Fans with football season parking passes will be allowed to park in these lots, while those who pay to park will be able to stay for the duration of the football game. Limited parking will be available on the street along 1400 North.
Heading into the final match of the season, Boise State has a 7-9-3 overall record, while matching Utah State's 5-5-0 Mountain West record. The Broncos and Aggies have wins over just two of the same league teams, in Air Force and Colorado State. Additionally, Boise State defeated regular season champions San Diego State, along with UNLV and Nevada.
Offensively, the Broncos are led by senior midfielder Brooke Heidemann, who has six goals and five assists on the year. Sophomore Janelle Flores is the team's leading goalkeeper with a 1.10 goals against average. She has allowed 15 goals this season, while tallying 42 saves. Jim Thomas is in his third season as the head coach at Boise State, where he has compiled a record of 31-25-9.
The Aggies lead the all-time series against Boise State, 9-4-3. The Broncos won the 2014 matchup in Boise, 1-0. The teams tied in Logan in 2013, leaving the Aggies without a win over Boise State since both teams joined the Mountain West. The Aggies' last win over the Broncos came in 2009, in a 1-0 victory in Boise.
Junior forward Jessica Brooksby leads the Aggies in scoring this season with 11 goals and two assists. Senior Jeannie Woller is the leading goalkeeper for USU, with a goals against average of 1.34, allowing 23 goals while totalling Utah State single-season record 99 saves.
