Sophomore outside Rachel Gale leads the team with 347 kills this season

USU Volleyball Punctuating Season on Tuesday Night

LOGAN, Utah - Utah State women's volleyball will look to punctuate its season with an exclamation point on the road at Boise State on Tuesday, Nov. 24, at 7 p.m. USU is 18-20 all-time against the Broncos, including a 3-0 defeat in Logan earlier this season.

Boise State is 22-7 on the year and 14-3 in the Mountain West, currently standing in second place. The Broncos will be celebrating Senior Day on Tuesday, bidding adieu to three seniors in outside Katelyn Kinghorn, middle Aly Duffin and setter Sarah Baugh.

Boise State is the best offensive unit in the Mountain West, hitting a league-best .278 (1,580-532-3,767), is the best in distributing the ball, averaging a league-best 13.95 assists per set and the best in finishing, averaging 14.91 kills per set.

Sophomore outside Sierra Nobley leads the Broncos with 488 kills, averaging a league-best 4.65 kills per set. Sophomore Kaitlyn Oliver and junior Maddy O'Donnell are second and third in the league in hitting percentage, hitting .403 (267-52-534) and .353 (242-68-493), respectively. Baugh directs the attack, totaling 1,284 assists and averaging a league-best 12.11 assists per set.

Defensively, Boise State has allowed opponents to hit .206 (1,318-552-3,716) during the year. Sophomore libero Maddi Osburn leads the team with 480 digs, averaging 4.53 per set, third in the Mountain West. O'Donnell paces the BSU block, totaling 92 and averaging 0.90 per set.

Utah State is 6-25 on the year, including a 2-15 record in the Mountain West.

Offensively, USU is powered by its outside hitters in sophomore outside Rachel Gale with a team-best 347 kills, followed by junior Kaylie Kamalu with 332 kills. The duo rank sixth and seventh, respectively, in the Mountain West, averaging 3.18 and 3.10 kills per set. Junior Erica Moscoso directs the attack with 593 assists on the year, averaging 8.59 per set, while the team is hitting .166 (1,254-618-3,842).

Defensively, junior libero Hannah Gleason is climbing the record books for single-season digs, collecting her 492nd dig of the season against Air Force, moving into sixth all-time in a single season in school history. Gleason needs 11 more digs to tie for fifth and 18 more digs to tie for fourth. Sophomore middle Carly Lenzen leads the Utah State block, totaling 95 on the year with eight solo and 87 assists.
