Utah State women's basketball is spending the week in Merida and Cozumel, Mexico. The team will play exhibition games against local teams, coach clinics and provide service in the communities. The Aggies spent Saturday in travel mode, flying to Cancun, followed by a bus ride to Merida. At the conclusion of each day, a member of the USU team will recap the day to keep fans informed and involved.

Hola, Aggie Nation!
I'm Mariah Miles, and we have finally made it to Mexico! We are so excited to compete, have fun, and grow together as a team this next week! Our first day was a long one, but we stuck it out and made the most of the full travel day. Once we landed in Cancun, most of us were expecting a long wait to get through customs, but we actually got through it quick and easy. Once we exited the airport, a group of local children who made the trip to Cancun were waiting there to meet us! It was so sweet! We said our hellos, and we then were introduced to Luis, who is the awesome guy who helped set up the trip and games, and also Mark, who also helped set the trip up, and translates for Luis as well. After introductions, we set out on the four hour bus ride for Merida. There wasn't much scenery, but it was very green! We finally arrived at the hotel, and at last, got to eat! Our hotel has such great and delicious food. Afterwards, we met Kandy, who is going to head up team bonding and activities!
We are looking forward to play, tour, and have fun, but more so anxious to learn and grow as a team this coming week! We are SO EXCITED to represent Utah State, and to show the Yucatan Peninsula what being an Aggie is all about!
Adios!
