UTAH STATE MEN'S BASKETBALL
Post-Game Quotes
vs. Nevada - Jan. 30, 2016

Utah State Head Coach Tim Duryea:

"Subpar performance defensively. I thought we made some really silly defensive mistakes and just had a stretch there that was just not good at all on either end of the floor. Give Nevada a lot of credit. I thought their guys, their four main guys, all came in and played really well.

"Defensively we didn't have enough of a presence. And yet we have the game tied, with the ball and a chance to take the lead with under four minutes to go. Winning time we didn't make any plays offensively or defensively. We missed key shots, key tip-ins, key free throws, had a couple unnecessary fouls and a couple times where we didn't get a defensive rebound. A lot of mistakes on both sides early in the game. You have the ball on your home court, under four minutes to go, chance to take the lead and we didn't make any plays. You've got to make some plays when the game is on the line if you want to win and we didn't make any tonight."

Utah State Senior Guard Chris Smith:

"We built ourselves a big hole the first half, and were not defending very well. In the second half we should've just toughed it out and get ourselves a win."

Utah State Senior Guard Darius Perkins:

"We dug ourselves into a hole by allowing too many turnovers. We fought out of the hole, but in the last few minutes we had to make plays, and they made key plays and we didn't. We had to make some shots at the end of the game and we couldn't do it. Some of their players who we thought couldn't shoot very well hit some shots, and that's where we took a punch."

Nevada Assistant Head Coach Doug Stewart:

"We shot the ball pretty well early in the game. Utah State tightened up the defense on us, and Marqueze Coleman shrunk the defense, giving opportunities to our open shooters. We were able to make some 3-point shots, something we didn't do well in the last two games, and that forced the defense to spread the floor. We shared the ball really well in the first half, racking up a bunch of assists, and we play our best basketball when we share the ball."
