UTAH STATE MEN'S BASKETBALL
vs. Boise State Jan 5, 2016
Post-Game Quotes
Utah State Head Coach Tim Duryea:
"Defensively, that's about as unsolid and poor performance as you can possibly have. In every area, from every position. Really, you give yourself no chance to win when you let an opponent shoot 60 percent on your floor, you let them be very efficient offensively and you get outrebounded even if you do play well offensively. We played better offensively in the second half, but as well as we played offensively in the second half, defensively, we were even more poor than we were in the first half. All in all, you just can't win. You give yourself no chance to win when you're that unsolid."
Utah State Junior Forward Jalen Moore:
"It's tough to lose two at home. We were hoping to win both, or at least split these last two games. Boise State was getting easy buckets, and we were taking tougher ones. They made second-chance points, while capitalizing on their open shots. They were making they're shots, our defense slipped, and that's where they were able to run away with the win. Both teams had 16 turnovers, but I feel like they were able to capitalize on those turnovers better than we did."
Utah State Redshirt Senior Forward Grayson Moore:
"It was pretty obvious to see that defense was huge in this game. We needed to keep them out of the paint more. We gave up a few crucial rebounds down the stretch, and that's how it slipped away. We're giving up too many second-chance points and it stings."
Boise State Associate Head Coach Jeff Linder:
"Our guys fought through the turnovers, and got a big road win in a tough place to play. In the first half, the pick-and-roll was wide open and Utah State then adjusted their defense. In the second half, we were able to spread the floor and we were able to get any shot we wanted, and as a result we shot 71 percent from the floor in the second half."
