Oct. 27, 2016 LOGAN, Utah - Utah State soccer (10-8-0, 6-4-0 MW) is set to conclude the 2016 regular season as it plays at Boise State (6-9-4, 5-2-3 MW) on Friday, Oct. 28. The Aggies and Broncos will meet at 4 p.m.
This season's home and Mountain West action will continue to be broadcast online through the Aggie Digital Network and the Mountain West Network. Fans can watch every Utah State home match, as well as every conference match in Logan or on the road. Live stats and play-by-play information will be available through GameTracker, while updates will also be provided through the team's social media outlets.
Boise state enters the final match of the regular season with a 6-9-4 overall record, going 5-2-3 in Mountain West play. Like the Aggies, the Broncos spent last weekend playing against the league's two Silver State teams, battling UNLV to a 1-1 double-overtime draw and defeating Nevada, 2-0. Boise State has also clinched a position in the Mountain West Championships and will now fight the Aggies for the higher tournament seed.
Freshman forward Raimee Sherle leads the Boise State offense this season with seven goals and two assists. Four other Bronco players have scored multiple goals this year. Junior Janelle Flores has played the majority of minutes in the net for the Broncos, allowing 12 goals while tallying 66 saves. Jim Thomas is in his fourth season at the helm of the Boise State program, where he has an overall record of 34-34-14.
Boise State returns nine starters and 14 total letterwinners from last year's squad that finished the season with a 7-9-4 record, including a sixth-place finish in the Mountain West with a 5-5-1 league record. Last season, Utah State and Boise State also played each other in the regular season finale, playing a 1-1 draw in Logan. All-time, Utah State leads the series again Boise State, 9-4-4.
For the Aggies, senior forward Jessica Brooksby leads the team in scoring with nine goals and eight assists. Sophomore Grace McGuire has spent the majority of time in the net for Utah State, allowing 15 goals while tallying 66 saves.
