Former Aggie Connor Williams Wins CFL Grey Cup

LOGAN, Utah - Former Utah State defensive end Connor Williams won the Canadian Football League Grey Cup on Sunday, as the Ottawa Redblacks defeated the Calgary Stampeders 39-33 in overtime.

In the game, Williams recorded three defensive tackles, including a quarterback sack, as the Redblacks recorded four sacks on the night. In his third season with the Redblacks, Williams recorded career highs in games played (18), tackles (18) and sacks (5), as well as forcing his first-career fumble in a game against the BC Lions. Ottawa won the East Division and finished the year with a 10-9-1 record

Williams was a defensive end at Utah State from 2010-13 and earned honorable mention all-WAC honors in 2012. Williams was also academic all-WAC in both 2010 and 2011. He ended his career with 87 total tackles, including 12.0 TFLs and 10.0 sacks. Williams also forced and recovered one fumble during his time as an Aggie.
