LOGAN, Utah - Utah State women's volleyball will begin its longest road trip of its Mountain West slate this week, opening a three-match swing at UNLV on Thursday, Nov. 10. The Aggies will then play at New Mexico on Saturday, Nov. 12, and finish the trip at Fresno State on Wednesday, Nov. 16.
Utah State split its matches last week, falling to Boise State (3-0) before sweeping Air Force (3-0) in its next contest. The results put the Aggies at 11-14 overall and 6-8 in the Mountain West.
Offensively, Utah State is hitting .227 (1,204-481-3,180) on the year and is led by its outside hitters in junior Lauren Anderson and senior Kaylie Kamalu-Smith with 302 and 296 kills, respectively. The duo is one of only two sets of teammates that rank in the top-10 of the Mountain West in kills per set as Kamalu-Smith is sixth (3.44 kps) and Anderson is seventh (3.39 kps). Senior setter Erica Moscoso is fourth in the Mountain West in assists, averaging 10.63 per set and totaling 872 this season.
Defensively, opponents have hit .226 (1,253-512-3,274) against the Aggies this season. The Utah State block is paced by its middles in junior Carly Lenzen and sophomore Lauren O'Brien with 93 and 91 blocks, respectively. Senior libero Hannah Gleason leads the USU back row with 368 digs, averaging 3.91 per set (fifth in the MW). Gleason has recorded double-digit digs in each of the last nine matches and 15 of the last 16.

Scouting UNLV
UNLV is 21-5 on the year and 10-4 in the Mountain West. The Rebels lost both of their matches last week, falling on the road at Colorado State, 3-2, and 3-0 at Wyoming.
UNLV is hitting .238 (1,339-497-3,536) on the year and is led by redshirt senior middle Bree Hammel with 373 kills, averaging 3.89 per set. Junior setter Alexis Patterson directs the Rebel attack and has totaled 1,054 assists, averaging 10.98 per set (third in the MW).
Defensively, opponents have hit .184 (1,220-570-3,537) against the Rebels. Sophomore middle Elsa Decamps and junior middle Ashley Owens pace the UNLV block, totaling 115 and 111, respectively. The duo is sixth and seventh in the Mountain West, averaging 1.20 and 1.19 per set, respectively. Senior libero Carly Riehl leads the UNLV back row with 290 digs, averaging 3.05 per set.
Head coach Cindy Fredrick is in her sixth season and has compiled an overall mark of 111-68. The Rebels lead the all-time series 7-2 and has won each of the last five matches.
Scouting New Mexico
New Mexico is 14-14 on the year and 4-10 in the Mountain West. The Lobos lost both of their matches on the road last week, falling at Wyoming 3-1 and 3-2 at Colorado State.
UNM is hitting .209 (1,304-563-3,550) on the year and opponents are matching the total, hitting .209 (1,385-619-3,664), as well. Senior outside Cassie House leads the Lobo attack with 344 kills, averaging 3.34 per set. House is also second behind the service line, totaling 25 aces, trailing only senior outside Julia Warren with 28 service aces.
Defensively, redshirt sophomore middle Victoria Spragg leads the UNM block with 106, averaging 1.02 per set. Redshirt junior libero Ashley Kelsey leads the New Mexico back row with 449 digs, averaging 4.20 per set (second in the MW).
Head coach Jeff Nelson is in his 10th year at New Mexico, compiling an overall record of 186-115 over that span. UNM leads the all-time series against Utah State 16-11, but the Aggies captured the first match against the Lobos this season, 3-1.
Killing It
Utah State outsides Kaylie Kamalu-Smith and Lauren Anderson are one of only two sets of teammates in the Mountain West that rank in the top-10 in kills per set, averaging 3.44 (sixth) and 3.39 (seventh), respectively.
Season Sweeps
Utah State has swept a pair of team during its Mountain West schedule, posting a 3-2 and 3-1 win over Nevada and a 3-1 and 3-0 victory over Air Force.
