LOGAN, Utah - Utah State women's basketball (7-2) will play its final home game of the non-conference season as it hosts BYU (5-4) on Saturday, Dec. 17, in a 2 p.m. game.

All regular-season home and Mountain West games will continue to be broadcast as a USU Athletics Production on the Mountain West Network. Live stats and play-by-play information will be available through GameTracker, while updates will also be provided through the team's social media outlets. Utah State women's basketball games are also broadcast on the radio through KVNU. Games will be played on 107.7 FM in Cache Valley with Craig Hislop on the call. Links to each option will be available online prior to every game.

The Cougars make the trip to Logan for their only game of the week with a 5-4 record. BYU's last game was at Utah, where the Cougars fell to the Utes, 77-60. This season, BYU has posted wins over Utah Valley (68-50), St. Joseph's (71-56), Tulsa (71-56), UNLV (63-54) and Weber State (73-64).

BYU returns three starters from last year, when the team went 26-7 overall and 16-2 in West Coast Conference play. The Cougars won the WCC title, advancing to the NCAA Tournament, where they fell to Missouri in the first round. Junior guard Cassie Broadhead leads the Cougars offensively, averaging 15.2 points per game. BYU has three players averaging double-digit scoring games. Senior forward Kalani Purcell is the top rebounder for the Cougars, averaging 8.9 boards per game. Overall, BYU is shooting 41.1 percent (206-of-501) from the floor, 28.3 percent (47-of-166) from the 3-point line and 65.0 percent (115-of-177) from the free throw line. Jeff Judkins is in his 16th season as the head coach at BYU, where he has an overall record of 336-154.

The series against BYU dates back to the 1973-74 season, spanning nearly the entire history of the Aggie women's basketball program. The teams spent time in two of the same conferences, playing each other in the Intermountain Athletic Conference and the High Country Athletic Conference. BYU leads the series, 34-3, having won the last 27 meetings. Utah State won the first two meetings in 1974, and has not defeated the Cougars since Dec. 7, 1978. For Utah State, sophomore guard Rachel Brewster leads the team in scoring, averaging 14.4 points per game. Freshman forward Shannon Dufficy is tops in the rebound column, averaging 9.3 per game. In all, the Aggies are shooting 40.4 percent (228-of-565) from the field, 35.5 percent (43-of-121) from the 3-point line and 67.2 percent (84-of-125) from the free throw line.
