LOGAN, Utah - Utah State women's volleyball improved its previous year's win total by eight matches in 2016 and set a school record in hitting percentage, swinging .238 (1,465-562-3,797) on the year.
Several Aggies also made their marks on the school career record books. Senior libero Hannah Gleason set the school record in career sets played, appearing in 450, finished fourth in career digs with 1,410 and finished tied for eighth with 120 matches played. Senior outside Kaylie Kamalu-Smith finished her career 10th all-time in both career kills (947) and career attempts (2,733). Senior Erica Moscoso rounded out her career No. 10 in career assists, finishing with 1,835.
Utah State finished the year with wins in three of their last four matches, including a Senior Day victory over Weber State. The Aggies swept each of its last two opponents with matching 3-0 wins at home against San José State and Weber State.
Junior outside Lauren Anderson earned all-Mountain West honors after leading the Aggies during their conference slate with 234 kills, averaging 3.49 per set and hitting .263 (234-75-615). Anderson finished the conference season ranked No. 6 in the Mountain West with her 3.49 kills per set and finished No. 10 in the league with 3.69 points per set.
Utah State will enter the 2017 campaign with eight letterwinners anticipated to return, including Anderson, senior-to-be outside Rachel Gale, who led the Aggies in kills in 2015, senior-to-be middle Carly Lenzen, the blocking leader for Utah State in each of the past two seasons, and junior-to-be Tasia Taylor, a two-year starter at defensive specialist.
Nifty 350
Junior outside Lauren Anderson (377) and senior outside Kaylie Kamalu-Smith (364) are the first hitters to both surpass 350 kills in the same season since the 2005 campaign, when Zuzana Cernianska (585), Beth Hodge (358) and Erin Graybill (356) each recorded more than 350 kills apiece.
30 For 30
Kaylie Kamalu-Smith recorded 30 kills in a match at Nevada on Sept. 22, marking the first time that an Aggie has recorded 30 or more kills in a match since Amanda Orgill-Nielsen tallied 32 against Arkansas Little Rock during the 2006 season.
Killing It
Utah State outsides Kaylie Kamalu-Smith and Lauren Anderson are one of only two sets of teammates in the Mountain West that ranked in the top-10 in kills per set, averaging 3.53 (sixth) and 3.52 (seventh), respectively.
All-Mountain West

Season Sweeps
Utah State swept four teams during its Mountain West schedule, posting a 3-2 and 3-1 win over Nevada, a 3-1 and 3-0 victory over Air Force, and a 3-1 and 3-2 win over New Mexico. The Aggies only faced San José State once during the year and picked up the 3-0 victory.
