TEAM NOTES
* Head coach Tim Duryea is the first Utah State head coach ever to win his first conference postseason game. In fact, Duryea is the first Aggie head coach to win his first-ever postseason game since LaDell Andersen led the Aggies to a 78-73 NCAA Tournament win against Arizona State in 1962.
* Utah State is now 2-2 all-time in Mountain West Tournament play and 2-0 in first round games. Overall, USU is now 40-29 in conference tournament play, including a 1-1 record against Wyoming.
* Utah State is now 8-2 on the season when scoring at least 80 points and 14-2 when scoring at least 70 points.
* Utah State is now 13-2 on the season when it out-rebounds its opponent as it had a 40-28 advantage on the boards today. USU also held Wyoming to just six offensive rebounds, marking the 14th time this year that an Aggie opponent had single-digit offensive rebounds.
* Utah State improved to 2-5 on the season in day games.
* Utah State is now 16-4 on the season when leading at the half as it had a 47-30 advantage today.
* Utah State improved to 13-8 on the season when its bench out-scores its opponents bench as USU had a 19-8 advantage today.
* Utah State improved to 14-3 on the season when it shoots better from the field than its opponent as USU shot 48.4 percent (31-of-64) and Wyoming shot 37.3 percent (19-of-51).
* Utah State had four players score in double-figures for the ninth time this year and is 6-3 in those games. USU also had a pair of 20-point scorers for the second time this year (Air Force) and second time in its last three games.
* Utah State made 11-of-25 three-pointers, marking the fourth-straight game and 11th time this year it has made at least 10 treys. In fact, USU is 7-4 on the season when it makes at least 10 treys in a game.
* Utah State's eight turnovers mark just the eighth time this year that it has had single-digit turnovers.
* Utah State's 47 first-half points marks the 11th time this season that it has scored 40-plus points in the first half and USU is now 10-1 in those games. In fact, USU's 47 first-half points are tied for its second-most in the first half this season.
* Utah State's 17-point halftime lead is its third-largest this season and largest against a Mountain West opponent.
* Wyoming was 27-of-34 from the free throw line, both of which are season-highs for an Aggie opponent, bettering the 23 made free throws by Nevada and the 28 free throw attempts by both Nevada and San Jose State.
* Utah State held Wyoming to just 37.3 percent (19-of-51) shooting, marking the seventh time this year it has held its opponent to less than 40 percent shooting from the field. In fact, those 19 made field goals are tied for the fewest by an Aggie opponent this season along with Utah Valley.
* Wyoming's six assists are a season-low for an Aggie opponent.
* Utah State held Wyoming to just 17.9 percent shooting (5-of-28) from 3-point range, which is a season-low for an Aggie opponent. Overall, USU has now held each of its last four opponents and 10 opponents this season to less than 30 percent shooting from behind the arc.
* Utah State shot 57.6 percent (19-of-33) in the first-half, which is it second-highest shooting percentage in the first-half this season. Overall, it is the 12th time this season that it has shot at least 50 percent from the field in the first half and USU is now 8-4 in those games.
PLAYER NOTES
* Junior guard Shane Rector scored a season-high 24 points, marking the 13th time this year he has scored in double-figures. It is also his first 20-point game of the season. Rector also had a season-high six rebounds and played a season-high 35 minutes. Rector also tied his season-high in field goals made (7), and had season-highs in field goal attempts (15), free throws made (7) and free throws attempts (8).
* Junior guard Shane Rector's 24 points are the most by an Aggie in a conference tournament game since Jared Quayle had 25 points against New Mexico State in the 2010 WAC Championship game. Overall, Rector's 24 points are the most by an Aggie in a postseason game since Preston Medlin scored 26 points against Oakland in the semifinals of the 2012 CIT Tournament.
* Senior guard Chris Smith scored 20 points, marking the 11th-straight game that he has scored in double-figures. It is also the 25th time this year and 45th time in his career he has scored in double-figures, and the seventh time this year and 11th time in his career he has scored 20 points in game.
* Sophomore guard Julion Pearre scored 14 points, marking the third-straight game he has scored in double-figures. Overall, it is the ninth time this year and 17th time in his career he has scored in double-figures. Pearre also tied his career-high with five rebounds and tied his season-high with four assists.
* Junior wing Jalen Moore scored in double-figures for the 12th-straight game, 27th time this year and 60th time in his career with his 19 points. Moore also played a season-high 40 minutes and grabbed nine rebounds, marking the 24th time this year and 53rd time in his career he has grabbed at least five boards in a game.
