LOGAN, Utah - The Big Blue Soccer Academy with camps hosted at Utah State has announced its first two clinics for the 2018 season, with a College ID Clinic and its Winter Academy series.

The 2018 Winter College ID Clinic will be conducted by the USU Soccer Staff and players on Saturday, Jan. 6. Two sessions of the clinic will be offered, with the first running from 9:30-11:30 a.m. and the second following from 12:30-2:30 p.m. Participants will be assigned to one of the sessions at registration. Requests for certain sessions can be made, but are not a guarantee. Registration is $45 and is open to girls in eighth through 12th grades. Each session is limited to 25 field players and six goalkeepers.

The College ID Clinics are designed to challenge players in competitive environment. Clinic topics will include tactical and technical training for field players, with specific training for goalkeepers. Clinic participants will also have the opportunity to learn about what it takes to be successful as a college soccer student-athlete.

The Winter Academy series will be held over four sessions, with meetings on Jan. 16, 23, 25 and 30, each from 7-8 p.m. Field player and goalkeeper clinics will run simultaneously, with registration limited to 25 and six players, respectively. Registration for the Winter Academy is $50 per player.

The Winter Academy clinics are for those players serious about soccer that want to be challenged to play at a level that is expected from players in college. Each session will include focused technical and tactical training, including footwork and ball control, passing and receiving under pressure, 1v1 attacking and defending, increasing speed of play, ball striking, position-specific training and small-sided scrimmage experience.
