Utah State women's basketball closed a two-game homestand Wednesday night in a 64-42 loss to Boise State.

Redshirt sophomore guard Victoria Price was the leading scorer for the Aggies, finishing the night with 11 points. She was joined in double figures by sophomore guard Eliza West, who posted 10 points. Sophomore guard/forward Shannon Dufficy was the top rebounder with five. Boise State had two players in double digits, led by 19 points from Riley Lupfer.

With the loss, Utah State falls to 4-14 on the year, including a 2-5 Mountain West ledger. Boise State picked up its third-straight win, improving to 11-7 overall and 5-2 in league play.

The pace started slowly, but Boise State was first to score. After the Broncos scored on back-to-back possessions, including one from 3-point range, Utah State took an early timeout. Out of the stop, Boise State hit another 3-point shot to go up 8-0 before the Aggies got on the board with a layup from junior center Deja Mason. Both teams went three minutes without scoring then, but the Broncos ended the skid with another shot from long range. Sophomore guard Olivia West was able to get the Aggies back in scoring position with deep 3-point shot at the 1:52 mark, while junior guard Rachel Brewster added a pair of free throws after drawing a foul on USU's next possession. Price hit a layup as time expired, but the Broncos took the 18-9 lead at the end of the quarter. Turnovers were an early struggle for Utah State, as the team committed 10 in the first quarter, which led to 13 points for Boise State.

The Broncos again hit a 3-point shot to open the second quarter, but Price answered with an old-fashioned 3-point play. The teams then traded possessions and layups back-and-forth, but the Aggies then went nearly three minutes without a field goal. Eliza West got the offense going once again, hitting a 3-pointer as the shot clock expired. Price again had the final points of the quarter, but Boise State went into the halftime break with a 36-24 advantage.

Play and scoring was fairly even through the third quarter. A trey from Brewster briefly cut USU's deficit to single digits, but the Broncos answered with a long-range shot of their own. Eliza West and sophomore guard/forward Hailey Bassett each added a pair of field goals for the Aggies, but Boise State out-scored USU 11-4 in the final four minutes of the quarter, leading 55-39.

The Utah State offense struggled to score in the fourth quarter, but the defense simultaneously slowed Boise State down. The Broncos opened the quarter with two made field goals, but were then held to just a pair of free throws for the next seven minutes. USU's first point of the quarter came at the free throw line, when freshman forward Taylor Franson went 1-of-2 on her attempt at the 1:59 mark. Franson would be the only Aggie to score in the final quarter, as she added her first-career field goal with 1:35 to play. Boise State then closed the game with one last 3-pointer, sealing its 22-point victory.

Overall, Utah State shot 30.0 percent (15-of-30) from the floor, going 23.1 percent (3-of-13) from the 3-point line and 69.2 percent (9-of-13) from the free throw line. Boise State shot 43.4 percent (23-of-53) from the field, including 39.1 percent (9-of-23) from behind the arc, and was 75.0 percent (9-of-12) from the free throw line.

Utah State returns to the road this weekend, playing at Wyoming (11-5, 4-2 MW) on Saturday, Jan. 20, at 2 p.m. The Aggies will go from there directly to Colorado Springs, Colo., where they will take on Air Force (0-17, 0-6 MW) on Wednesday, Jan. 24, at 7 p.m.
