LOGAN, Utah - Utah State volleyball lost a three-set decision at Wyoming on Thursday night, moving to 3-15 on the year and 1-6 in the Mountain West.

USU hit .049 (25-20-102) during the match to Wyoming's .386 (49-10-101), as sophomore outside Gabbi Shumway led the Aggie attack with nine kills. Senior setter Kassidy Johnson recorded 23 of Utah State's 25 assists, while senior libero Tasia Taylor led the USU back row with a team-high 11 digs. Redshirt junior Ally Packard joined Taylor in double figures with 10 digs.

Wyoming used an seven-point run in the opening set to create some separation, breaking a 6-6 tie and taking a 13-6 lead. The Cowgirls rode the momentum to a 25-15 victory in the first set. The mojo carried over for Wyoming in the second set as the Cowgirls opened with a 5-0 run. Wyoming took a two-set advantage after taking the second, 25-12.

The Aggies bounced back at the beginning of the third set, scoring the opening point behind a kill by Shumway and carried a lead as late as 15-14. However, Wyoming came back with a three-point run to take a 17-15 lead and force an Aggie timeout. USU came back to within one, 17-16, making the most of a Wyoming attacking error on the next rally, but ultimately lost the match as the Cowgirls captured the set, 25-19.

Wyoming was led on the attack by junior outside Tara Traphagan with 13 kills, followed by senior outside Emily Lewis with 10. Junior libero Madi Fields led the Cowgirl back row with a match-high 13 digs.
