Utah State will open the month of November on the road, traveling to San Diego State on Thursday, Nov. 1, taking the court against the Aztecs at 7 p.m. (MT). The Aggies will then travel to Fresno State on Saturday, Nov. 3, for a 2 p.m., match against the Bulldogs.
Scouting the Aztecs
San Diego State is 7-18 on the year and 5-7 in the Mountain West. Since securing a 3-2 victory over the Aggies in Logan on Oct. 6, SDSU has gone 2-4 over its last six matches.
San Diego State is hitting .205 (1,263-590-3,285) on the year and is led individually by senior middle Deja Harris with 303 kills, averaging 3.00 per set, and hitting a team-best .324 (303-106-608) to rank seventh in the Mountain West. Harris is also tops for the Aztec block, totaling 132 and averaging 1.31 per set to rank third in the league.
Sophomore libero Sam McGrath and junior outside Ashlynn Dunbar are first and second for San Diego State on the back row with 227 and 225 digs, averaging 2.44 and 2.42 digs per set, respectively. Dunbar ranks second in the MW behind the service line, averaging 0.46 service aces per set. Opponents are hitting .233 (1,274-498-3,330) against the Aztecs this season.

Scouting the Bulldogs
Fresno State has proven to be the surprise of the Mountain West this season with an overall mark of 17-7, including a 9-2 ledger in the league. The Bulldogs were picked seventh in the preseason.
The Bulldogs are hitting .234 (1,215-468-3,196) on the year to rank fourth in the Mountain West. Individually, senior outside Taylor Slover leads Fresno State with 3.68 kills per set to rank fourth in the league. Senior middle Haile Watson is the most efficient hitter for the Bulldogs, hitting .341 (201-55-428) to rank fifth in the MW. Junior setter Madelyn Halteman directs the attack, totaling 911 assists and averaging 9.80 per set to rank second in the league.
Defensively, sophomore libero Reagan Leonard leads the Mountain West with 4.85 digs per set, totaling 451 on the year. Watson also leads the Bulldog block, totaling 108 on the year and averaging 1.16 per set. Opponents are hitting .187 (1,131-508-23,328) against Fresno State this season.
Head coach Jonathan Winder is in his first year at the helm in Fresno, joining the Bulldogs after serving as a an assistant coach at Washington the past three seasons.
