"The team is fired up and ready to go," said first-year USU head coach Amy Smith. "We need to make the most of this opportunity on Saturday as we make our final push toward securing a spot in regionals. The team showed what it is capable of doing in our final home meet last weekend, and they brought their best when it was needed. We need to come out and do that again tomorrow night."

Utah State, one of six teams fighting for the final three spots in the upcoming NCAA Regional Championships, will begin the meet on vault, then move to bars in the second rotation, followed by beam and finish on floor.

Utah State (8-9, 2-4 MRGC) comes into the meet fresh off a 196.500-195.750 Senior Night victory over Southern Utah last weekend at the Dee Glen Smith Spectrum. The Aggies' 196.500 was the third-best team score in school history. Utah State swept every event title, including sophomore McKinley Pavicic capturing the beam crown with a career-high 9.950, which is tied for first all-time in school history.

As a team, the Aggies reached the 49-point plateau on every event for the first time this season. Utah State had a 49.050 on vault, a 49.000 on bars, a 49.200 on beam, which is tied for sixth all-time in school history, and a 49.250 on floor.

"We are excited for this opportunity to get another high score and prove we belong at NCAA regionals," said freshman Leighton Varnadore. "The team is more than ready. We just need to do what we do every day in practice."

Pavicic, sophomore Jazmyn Estrella and junior Madison Ward were tabbed the MRGC Beam, Bars and Floor Specialists of the Week following their performances against the Thunderbirds. Overall, they are the Aggies' 18th, 19th and 20th MRGC weekly honorees in their fourth season in the league.

Estrella won the bars title against Southern Utah with a career-high 9.925, helping Utah State record a season-high team score of 49.000 on the event. Ward captured the floor title against SUU with a 9.900. She also won the vault title with a career-high-tying 9.850.

The Aggies are 38th nationally and fourth in the MRGC with a Regional Qualifying Score (RQS) of 195.575. As a team, Utah State is 38th in the nation on vault (48.900), 51st on bars (48.700), 25th on beam (49.055) and 29th on floor (49.145).

Estrella is the Aggies' top bars performer as she is tied for 11th in the MRGC with a 9.810 RQS. Ward and sophomore Brittany Jeppesen are tied for 13th with matching 9.805s.

Freshman Autumn DeHarde is second in the MRGC and tied for 48th in the nation on beam (9.875). Junior Emily Briones is sixth in the conference and tied for 90th in the nation on the event (9.845).
