LOGAN, Utah - Utah State head women's basketball coach Jerry Finkbeiner has announced the addition of Roxani Bountouka to the 2018-19 signing class.
Bountouka, a 6-foot-2 forward, joins the Aggies from Thessaloniki, Greece, where she attends the Hellenic College of Thessaloniki. She started her career playing for E.O. Stavroupoli from 2007-14, but currently plays for the Aris Thessaloniki women's basketball club. Bountouka has also spent three summers practicing with the Greek National Team.
In each of the last four seasons, Bountouka has helped her team to top-two finishes at the Thessaloniki Championships. Throughout the 2017-18 season, she averaged 8.9 points and 9.0 rebounds while playing an average of 25 minutes per game.
"Roxani's signing brings added depth to our program at the four and five positions," Finkbeiner said. "At 6-foot-2, Roxani is athletic and runs the floor well for her position. We have improved rebounding objectives for our program this offseason, and those are being met with our spring signees like Roxani."
Bountouka is the fourth player to sign with the Aggies for the upcoming 2018-19 season, joining Marlene Aniambossou (Cotonou, Benin/Notre Dame des Apotres), Emma Dudley (Rancho Sante Fe, Calif./Santa Fe Christian HS) and Steph Gorman (Wodonga, Victoria, Australia/ Wodonga Senior Secondary College).
