LOGAN, Utah - Utah State head men's tennis coach James Wilson has announced the addition of Christian Holmes (Littleton, Colo.) to the team, opening his collegiate career during the 2019-20 season.

"Christian is a high achiever with high character that will immediately make a positive contribution," said Wilson. "His tennis game, athleticism and work ethic made a lasting impression, and I feel he has a lot of potential. I'm excited to work with him next fall."

Holmes, a four-star recruit by tennisrecruiting.net, has numerous accolades during his career, including being a two-time 5A Colorado state champion, a two-time Colorado state MVP and a three-time Chatfield Senior High School athlete of the year. Holmes is also on track to be Chatfield's valedictorian, graduating with a 4.0 G.P.A. Holmes is also is a three-year letterwinner in basketball and an Eagle Scout.

"I chose Utah State because I not only thought that the improving tennis program would allow me to develop my game to the next level, but it was a school that would definitely allow me to reach my academic goals as well," said Holmes. "I'm excited to work hard both in the classroom and on the court."
