LOGAN, Utah - Utah State women's basketball (10-8, 5-2 Mountain West) lost, 68-64, to New Mexico (17-2, 7-1 MW) Saturday afternoon in the Dee Glen Smith Spectrum.
Junior guard/forward
Shannon Dufficy recorded her school-record eighth consecutive double-double with a career-high 26 points and 10 rebounds. Junior guard
Olivia West also scored in double figures with 10 points.
West knocked down a three to open the first quarter. The Lobos then used an 8-0 run to to lead, 8-3, with 6:22 to go. The teams then went back-and-forth as New Mexico held the 18-12 advantage at the end of the period.

Deja Mason cut the lead to two at 18-16. After New Mexico extended its lead out to eight, 27-19, layups from Dufficy and senior guard

Steph Gorman made it a three-point game at 30-27 with 3:15 on the clock. Brewster made the final bucket of the quarter as New Mexico maintained a three-point lead, 32-29, heading into the half.
The Lobos led by as many as nine three different times in the third period, leading 42-33 with 6:56 to go. Dufficy then went on a 9-1 run to tie it up at 45-45 with 1:20 remaining. However, New Mexico scored the final six points of the quarter to lead, 51-45.

Hailey Bassett trimmed the lead to two at 51-49 with 8:26 to play. After some back-and-forth, a Gorman trey and layups from E. West and Dufficy tied it up at 62-62 with 1:05 to go. However, a New Mexico three and free throws gave the Lobos the 68-64 victory.
New Mexico was led by senior guard Jayla Everett with 22 points.
Utah State finished the game shooting 41.3 percent (26-of-63) from the field, 25.0 percent (3-of-12) from behind the arc and 64.3 percent (9-of-14) at the free throw line. New Mexico shot 38.6 percent (22-of-57) from the floor, 45.8 percent (11-of-24) from the 3-point line and 65.0 percent (13-of-20) at the free throw line.
Utah State next has a two-game road trip as the Aggies take on San José State (1-17, 0-7 MW) on Wednesday, Jan. 30, at 8 p.m. (MT), followed by UNLV (5-12, 3-3 MW) on Saturday, Feb. 2, at 3 p.m.
