Utah State soccer (6-4-0, 1-1-0 MW) continues its 2019 season this week with Mountain West road contests at Fresno State (5-3-1, 1-1-0 MW) and San José State (3-5-2, 1-1-0 MW) on Thursday, Oct. 3, and Sunday, Oct. 6, respectively.

Last Time Out
Utah State split a two-match road trip in the Silver State with a 1-0 double-overtime victory at UNLV, followed by a 1-0 double-overtime loss at Nevada. Against the Rebels, freshman forward Christiane Sundstrom became the 13th different Aggie to score this season as she recorded her first collegiate goal in the 107th minute to give Utah State the victory. Against the Wolf Pack, Utah State recorded 24 shots, but Nevada scored the game winner in the 105th minute, marking the first goal conceded by USU freshman keeper Diera Walton in more than 422 minutes.
Looking at Fresno State
Fresno State is 5-3-1 on the year, including a 1-1-0 mark in the Mountain West. The Bulldogs have won two of their last three matches with wins over UC Riverside and Colorado College.
Junior forward Emma Chivers leads Fresno State in scoring with three goals on the year, while senior midfielder Tori Nicolo leads the team with three assists. Chivers also leads the Bulldogs with 15 shots with four on frame. Freshman keeper Milena Zink has played more than 610 minutes in goal, leading the Bulldogs with 21 saves and a goals-against-average of 1.03.
The Series with Fresno State
USU is 7-8-3 all-time against the Bulldogs, including a 2-3-1 mark on the road. The Aggies have won four of the last five against Fresno State and are unbeaten in six of the last eight.
Looking at San José State
San José State is 3-5-2 on the year, including a 1-1-0 mark in Mountain West play. The Spartans snapped a four-match losing streak with a 2-1 victory over Air Force in their last contest. SJSU hosts Boise State on Thursday before welcoming the Aggies to San Jose on Sunday.
Freshman Sabrina Weinman and senior Jamilecxth Becerra make up four of the six goals scored by the Spartans this season, accounting for two apiece. Junior Karlee Pottorff and freshman Maddie Toomer are tied for the team lead with two assists each. Becerra leads SJSU with 16 shots, including a team-best 10 shots on goal. Sophomore Ariana Romero has been the lone keeper for the Spartans in goal this season, playing 948 minutes and totaling 40 saves and a goals-against-average of 1.33.
The Series with San José State
USU is 9-3-3 against the Spartans, including a 3-3-0 mark on the road. The Aggies are unbeaten against San José State in seven of the last eight matches.
