LARAMIE, Wyo. - Utah State soccer lost 2-1 at Wyoming on Sunday afternoon in a match played in snowy, blustery conditions.
Both of the Cowgirls' goals came on set pieces as Wyoming scored the opening goal in the 24th minute off of a corner kick. The Aggies equalized less than a minute later when freshman midfielder Sid Barlow recorded her team-leading third goal of the year off a cross from senior forward Alecia Robinson in the 25th minute.
However, Wyoming scored their second goal of the opening half in the 44th minute off of a free kick that was then headed into the goal, proving to be the game winner.
Utah State finished the match with 11 shots to Wyoming's 12 and was led by Barlow with a team-best three, all on frame. In all, Aggie attackers logged 10 shots on goal with Cowgirl keepers Hannah Lee and Riley Forbush sharing time in net with five and four saves, respectively. USU freshman keeper Diera Walton finished the match with four saves.
USU will close out its 2019 regular season and returns home for the next three matches, hosting Air Force, Colorado State and Boise State over the next two weeks.
