LOGAN, Utah – Utah State softball has announced its 2020 competition schedule, featuring five preseason tournaments, as well as three regional rivals and a full slate of Mountain West meetings.

This season, the Aggies will take on five teams that played in NCAA Regionals in 2019. Colorado State earned the Mountain West's automatic postseason bid, and they were joined by league rival Boise State as an at-large qualifier. BYU, Drake and Cal State Fullerton also played in the Regional round. Additionally, USU will play one first-time opponent in Saint Francis.

Utah State opens the 2020 campaign with five preseason tournaments, four of which will be in California. The first trip will take the Aggies to Cal State Fullerton for the Titan Classic, Feb. 7-9. There they will play Pacific, Middle Tennessee, Loyola Marymount, UC Riverside and the host-Titans. The following week, the team will play in the Golden State Classic in Lake Elsinore, Feb. 14-16. The tournament will feature games against Hawai'i, Portland State, San Diego, UC Davis and Seton Hall.

USU will then play at the Grand Canyon Purple Classic, hosted by Grand Canyon, Feb. 21-23. The Aggies will play two games apiece against the 'Lopes and CSUN, as well as one against Drake. The team will head back to the Golden State for the Capital Classic, Feb. 28-March 1, a tournament co-hosted by Sacramento State and UC Davis. The weekend will open in Sacramento, with a pair of games against Saint Mary's and the Hornets. The next day will find the team in Davis, taking on Texas State and the other Aggies. The final day of the tournament, USU will return to Sacramento to play Santa Clara.

Tournament season will close the weekend of March 5-7, at the Silicon Valley Classic II, co-hosted by Santa Clara and San José State. The first three games of the tournament, USU will play Saint Francis, Saint Mary's and UC Santa Barbara in San Jose. The final day will be played in Santa Clara, with a doubleheader against Saint Francis and the host-Broncos.

Utah State will play five additional non-conference games throughout the season. The Aggies will play a home-and-home series against Utah Valley. The teams will play in Orem on Saturday, March 13, then in Logan on Sunday, March 15. USU will also play two contests against BYU, hosting the Cougars on Tuesday, March 31, then making the trip to Provo on Tuesday, May 5. USU will also host border-foe Idaho State on Tuesday, April 14.

Mountain West play will feature three-game series against each league opponent. Utah State will open the conference season on the road at New Mexico (March 20-22). The team will also play at Fresno State (April 3-5), UNLV (April 17-19) and San Diego State (May 1-5). The Aggies will host Colorado State (March 27-29), Nevada (April 9-11), Boise State (April 24-26) and San José State (May 7-9).

The Mountain West does not sponsor a conference softball tournament. Qualifying teams will begin postseason play at NCAA Regionals the weekend of May 14-17, with Super Regionals following, May 21-24.
