NOTES - Utah State Soccer Hosting Boise State on Friday for Senior Day

Aggies and Broncos will meet at 3 p.m. in the 2019 finale

LOGAN, Utah - Utah State soccer (7-10-1, 2-7-1 MW) wraps up its 2019 season this week, hosting Boise State (16-3-0, 8-2-0 MW) for Senior Day on Friday, Nov. 1, at 3 p.m.

Last Time Out
Utah State split its home matches last week with a 1-0 loss against Air Force, followed by a 3-0 victory over Colorado College. Against the Falcons, Utah State recorded more shots (17-12) and more corners (10-4) than AFA, but a lone goal by Air Force in the ninth minute proved to be the difference. Against the Tigers, junior defender Imelda Williams, junior midfielder Kami Warner and senior forward Alecia Robinson each scored a goal, while junior midfielder Amber Marshall picked up an assist. Warner scored her goal 18 seconds into the second half, marking the fastest second-half goal in Utah State history. Additionally, freshman keeper Diera Walton earned her fifth clean sheet of the season in the 3-0 victory over the Tigers.
 
Looking at Boise State
Boise State is 16-3-0 on the year, including a league-best-tying 8-2-0 mark in Mountain West play. The Broncos split their matches last weekend with a 1-0 loss against Colorado College, followed by a 3-2 victory over Air Force. Overall, BSU has won five of its last six matches.
 
Boise State leads the Mountain West with 37 goals on the year and is led on the attack by senior forward Raimee Sherle with a team-best 12 goals and eight assists, both tied for second in the league. Sophomore keeper Sydney Smith has played all but 14 minutes in goal for the Broncos during the year, totaling more than 1,720 minutes, 70 saves and six shutouts.
 
The Series with Boise State
Utah State leads the all-time series against Boise State, 11-5-4. The Aggies have won two of the last three matches, including a 6-1 victory in Boise during the 2016 season. USU is 2-2-3 all-time against the Broncos in Logan.
 
Honoring the Seniors
Utah State soccer will honor its three seniors prior to the match on Friday afternoon, recognizing defender Mealii Enos, midfielder Kanyan Merrill and forward Alecia Robinson. The trio represent more than 200 matches played over the course of their respective careers.
 
Quick on the Trigger
Junior midfielder Kami Warner scored the fastest goal in the second half in Utah State history in the Aggies' 3-0 victory over Colorado College on Oct. 27. Warner scored just 18 seconds after the opening kick, besting the previous record of 43 seconds. The goal is also tied for the fastest goal in USU history.
