LOGAN, Utah – Utah State senior placekicker
Dominik Eberle has been named as one of 10 finalists for the 2019 Senior CLASS Award on Thursday.
To be eligible for the award, a student-athlete must be classified as an NCAA Division I Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) senior and have notable achievements in four areas of excellence: community, classroom, character and competition.
Earlier this week, Eberle was tabbed a nominee for the 2019 Wuerffel Trophy, the national college football award recognizing community service.
A 2019 team captain, Eberle scored his school-record-tying 308th career point with the Aggies last Saturday night at Air Force, joining former running back Robert Turbin (2007-09, 2011) at the top of that list.
For his career, Eberle has made 54 of the 70 field goals he has attempted and his conversion percentage of 77.1 ranks second all-time in school history. Russ Moody (1988-89) holds the school record at 84.6 percent (22-of-26).
The 2017 Lou Groza Award finalist is a perfect 146-for-146 on extra points in his career, which is a school record.
Off the field, Eberle holds a 3.28 GPA (on a 4.0 scale) as a dual major in international business and marketing. He is also minoring in psychology and is a two-time academic all-Mountain West (2017, 2018) honoree.
Eberle has been as active off the field as on it. He constantly signs up through Utah State's community service opportunities, looking for ways to interact with kids at local schools, where it be talking to middle schoolers about high school and college futures, or engaging with children in the "Bring Fathers to School Day," where the student's parent might not be available to play with them.
The son of Güenther Eberle and Carmen Romero-Eberle has also worked on the Athletic Council Gender and Minorities Subcommittee, the Student-Athlete Advisory Council, the Sexual Assault Task Force, USU Football Youth Clinics, USU Football Women's Clinic, USU Football Family Fun Day, Logan Pioneer Day Parade and USU Football Captain's Council.
During the holidays, Eberle signs up for the Thanksgiving/Christmas food drives and goes around the community collecting food for those in need.
An acronym for Celebrating Loyalty and Achievement for Staying in School, the Senior CLASS Award focuses on the total student-athlete and encourages students to use their platform in athletics to make a positive impact as leaders in their communities.
The finalists were chosen by a selection committee from the list of 30 candidates announced earlier in the season. Nationwide fan voting begins immediately to help select the winner, and fans are encouraged to vote on the Senior CLASS Award website through Dec. 9. Fan votes will be combined with media and Division I head coaches' votes to determine the winner. The Senior CLASS Award winner will be announced during the football bowl season in early January.

Eberle and the Aggies (4-3, 3-1 MW) conclude non-conference play this weekend when they welcome in-state rival BYU (3-4) to Merlin Olsen Field at Maverik Stadium. The game, which will be televised nationally on ESPN2, is slated to kick off at 8 p.m.
