RENO, Nev. – Utah State volleyball wrapped up the October portion of its season Thursday, falling at Nevada, 3-0.
The match started fairly evenly, as the teams traded leads through the first set. A 6-0 run behind the serve of sophomore outside hitter
Whitney Solosabal highlighted the set for the Aggies, but the Wolf Pack bounced back to take the win, 25-20. Nevada dominated the second set, using a 14-point run to post a 25-12 victory. The even-keeled play returned in the third set, but the Wolf Pack led from the 11-all point to close the match in a 25-18 win.
For the Aggies, freshman outside hitter
Madi Brunatti had a team-high seven kills, while sophomore middle blocker
Corinne Larsen led the team with a .300 (5-2-10) hitting percentage. Larsen also had a team-best five blocks (0-5) in the match.
Utah State hit .083 (24-17-84) on the night, to Nevada's .319 (52-16-113).
The Aggies will wrap-up their four-match road swing at San José State (7-15, 2-9 MW) on Saturday, Nov. 2, at 3 p.m. (MT).
