Utah State soccer (6-5-5, 1-2-1 MW) continues its 2019 season this week, hosting New Mexico (7-4-0, 3-1-0 MW) on Friday, Oct. 11, at 4 p.m., and San Diego State (4-6-1, 3-1-0 MW) on Sunday, Oct. 13, at 1 p.m.

Last Time Out
Utah State went 0-1-1 last week with a 1-1 double-overtime draw at Fresno State, followed by a 1-0 loss at San José State. Against the Bulldogs, freshman midfielder Sid Barlow scored her second goal of the season, but Fresno State tied the game at 1-1 with four seconds remaining in regulation. New Mexico is 7-4-0 on the year and 3-1-0 in the MW, having won each of its last three contests. The Lobos have totaled 11 goals on the year, shared among six goal scorers, including junior forward Lelani Baker with a team-best four goals this season. Baker is also tied for the team lead with two assists, matching four other teammates.
Sophomore keeper Malia Vanisi has played the majority of time in the net for the Lobos, totaling more than 815 minutes in goal and 38 saves. Vanisi carries a goals-against-average of 0.88.
The Series with New Mexico
Utah State is 1-4-2 all-time against New Mexico and has lost each of the last four matches against the Lobos. The Aggies are 0-2-1 all-time in matches played in Logan.
Looking at San Diego State
San Diego State is 4-6-1, including a 3-1-0 record in the MW. The Aztecs are on a similar three-match winning streak and will travel to league-leading Boise State on Friday, Oct. 11, before making the trip to Logan.
