LOGAN, Utah – Following its 37-35 Mountain West road win at Fresno State this past weekend, Utah State now ranks among the top-40 teams in the nation in 12 statistical categories, including second in special teams touchdowns with three (two kickoff returns, one punt return), and 11th in the nation in fumbles recovered (9), kickoff returns (26.4 yards per return) and punt returns (14.0 yards per return).
USU is also 16th in the nation with its two defensive touchdowns and three-and-outs forced per game (4.50), 23rd in tackles for loss allowed (4.78 per game), 24th in fewest penalty yards per game (45.4) and 26th in sacks allowed with 13 (1.44 per game).
Offensively, Utah State is fifth in the Mountain West and 47th in the nation in total offense (431.4 ypg), second in the MW and 43rd in the nation in completion percentage (.629), fifth in the MW and 26th in the nation in sacks allowed with 13 (1.44 pg), fifth in the MW and 29th in the nation in passing offense (279.4 ypg), seventh in the MW and 72nd nationally in scoring offense (28.2 ppg), seventh in the MW and 86th in the nation in passing efficiency (129.1), and eighth in the MW and 82nd in the nation in rushing offense (152.0 ypg).
