LOGAN, Utah - Utah State women's basketball (1-1) recorded a 70-63 victory over Seattle U (1-1) on Saturday night inside the Dee Glen Smith Spectrum.
It was a career night for several Aggies, as sophomore guard
Steph Gorman doubled her previous career high with 28 points against the Redhawks. Senior guard
Lindsey Jensen-Baker and senior forward
Marlene Aniambossou also scored career highs with 15 and 13 points, respectively. Four Aggies also posted career highs on the boards, as Aniambossou had nine, Gorman had six, and both redshirt sophomore guard/forward
Taylor Franson and freshman guard
Faith Brantley had five rebounds apiece.
Utah State forced 19 turnovers which resulted in 19 points. Nine different Aggies recorded at least one steal on the night, with Gorman and Aniambossou leading the way with three thefts each.
Seattle U was led by senior guard Kamira Sanders with 30 points and 11 rebounds.
Utah State shot 38.2 percent (21-of-55) from the field, 30.0 (6-of-20) from behind the arc and 68.8 percent (22-of-32) at the free throw line. Seattle U shot 36.9 percent (24-of-65) from the floor, 35.0 percent (7-of-20) from behind the 3-point line and 50.0 percent (8-of-16) at the free throw line.
Utah State next kicks off a four-game away slate as the Aggies take on No. 1 Oregon (0-0) on Wednesday, Nov. 13, at 7 p.m. (MT), in Eugene, Ore.
