LOGAN, Utah - Utah State volleyball lost a four-set decision to UNLV on Saturday afternoon, losing 21-25, 25-20, 23-25, 18-25.

Freshman outside Hailey Cuff led the Aggies on the attack, finishing with 10 kills, while sophomore middle Corinne Larsen hit .643 with nine kills on 14 attempts, without an error. As a team, Utah State his .178 (37-18-107). UNLV was led by junior outside Mariena Hayden with 22 kills, followed by junior outside Thea Sweder with 11. The Rebels finished the match hitting .289 (63-26-128).

Utah State led as late as 21-19 in the opening set, but UNLV closed out the frame with a six-point run to take the 25-21 victory. The Aggies broke a 15-15 tie in the second set with a four-point run, capped by a block by junior opposite Bailey Downing and Larsen, to take a 19-15 advantage. Another block by Larsen and sophomore outside Whitney Solosabal gave the Aggies the set, 25-20.

Utah State fought off a UNLV set point in the fourth set behind a kill by Cuff, but a Hayden kill on the next rally gave the visitors the set, 25-23. The Rebels then used a 5-2 run to open the fourth set and finished off the match with a 25-18 victory.

Utah State returns to action next week, taking its final road trip of the 2019 season and facing Colorado State on Thursday, Nov. 14, at 7 p.m. The road trip will wrap up at Wyoming on Friday, Nov. 15, at 6:30 p.m.
