LOGAN, Utah - Utah State women's basketball (3-5, 0-1 MW) lost, 76-61, in its Mountain West opener to San José State (6-3, 1-0 MW) inside the Dee Glen Smith Spectrum on Wednesday night.

Senior guard Lindsey Jensen-Baker led the Aggies with a career-high 20 points to go along with seven rebounds. Sophomore guard Steph Gorman had 15 points, as well as a career-high seven rebounds and a career-high-tying five assists. Senior forward Hailey Bassett rounded out the double figure scoring with 12 points and a team-high eight rebounds. 

Both senior forward Marlene Aniambossou and sophomore forward Emma Dudley collected seven rebounds. The seven boards marked a career-high for Dudley.

San José State was led by sophomore guard Ayzhiana Basallo with 20 points.

Utah State shot 37.5 percent (24-of-64) from the field, 36.8 percent (7-of-19) from behind the arc and 54.5 percent (6-of-11) at the free throw line. San José State shot 39.7 percent (27-of-68) from the floor, 39.3 percent (11-of-28) from behind the 3-point line and 73.3 percent (11-of-15) at the free throw line.

Utah State continues Mountain West play on Saturday, Dec. 7, as the Aggies take on Fresno State (6-3, 1-0 MW) inside the Save Mart Center in Fresno, Calif., at 7 p.m.
