LOGAN, Utah – Utah State softball (13-19, 3-7 MW) returns to road Mountain West play this weekend in a three-game series at Boise State (23-8, 3-6 MW). The Aggies and Broncos will kick things off on Friday, April 12, at 4 p.m., followed by a 4 p.m. game on Saturday, April 13. The weekend will conclude on Sunday, April 14, at noon.
All of the 2019 Mountain West games, and all of Utah State's home games, will continue to be broadcast as a USU Athletics Production on the Mountain West Network. All video feeds will be available live and in archive form at utahstateaggies.com/watch. Live stats will also be provided by SIDEARM for all home games, while road contests will also have live stats available. Links to each option will be available online prior to every game. In-game updates will also be provided through the team's social media outlets. Admission to Utah State home games is free.
Boise State enters the week with a 23-8 overall record, including a 3-6 Mountain West ledger. The Broncos are coming off their conference bye weekend, and will have had 11 days off by the first game of the series. In its last Mountain West outing, Boise State was swept by San José State. As a team, Boise State is batting .319 (274-of-859), led by senior outfielder Kora Wade, who is hitting .413 (43-of-104). Five pitchers have seen time in the circle for the Broncos, posting a combined ERA of 3.25. Junior Micaela Leal has a team-low 2.73 ERA, while sophomore Gianna Mancha has put in the most work with 79 innings and nine complete games.
Maggie Livreri is in her first season as the head coach at Boise State. The Broncos lead the all-time series with Utah State, 17-11, but the Aggies do hold the slight edge in games played in Boise, 6-5. The Broncos took the series in Logan last season, sweeping the Aggies in three five-inning games.
For the Aggies, senior first baseman Bailee Trapp leads the team at the plate, batting .360 (31-of-86), including seven home runs. As a team, USU is batting .285 (238-of-834). In the circle, sophomore Delaney Hull leads the pitching staff with a 5.54 ERA in 17 starts, while the three pitchers have allowed 245 hits and 166 earned runs with a combined 6.02 ERA.
