LOGAN, Utah – Utah State softball (13-22, 4-10 MW) is set to host Fresno State (23-8, 3-6 MW) in a three-game Mountain West series this weekend. The Aggies and Bulldogs will start the weekend early in a 4 p.m. game on Thursday, April 18. The series will continue on Friday, April 19, and Saturday, April 20, with games at 4 p.m., and noon, respectively.
All of the 2019 Mountain West games, and all of Utah State's home games, will continue to be broadcast as a USU Athletics Production on the Mountain West Network. All video feeds will be available live and in archive form at utahstateaggies.com/watch. Live stats will also be provided by SIDEARM for all home games, while road contests will also have live stats available. Links to each option will be available online prior to every game. In-game updates will also be provided through the team's social media outlets. Admission to Utah State home games is free.
Fresno State comes to Logan with a 27-14 overall record, including a 5-7 Mountain West ledger. As a team, Fresno State is batting .306 (314-of-1,027), led by freshman outfielder McKenzie Wilson who is hitting .378 (48-of-127). Three pitchers have seen time in the circle for Fresno State, posting a combined ERA of 3.00. Sophomore Hailey Dolcini leads the group with a 2.11 ERA and a 12-5 individual record in 102.2 innings of work.
Linda Garza is in her third season as the head coach at Fresno State, where she has an all-time record of 93-60. Fresno State leads the all-time series against Utah State, 43-14, including a three-game sweep of the series in Fresno last season.
For the Aggies, freshman shortstop Lexi Orozco leads the team at the plate, batting .366 (37-of-101), including 10 home runs and seven doubles. As a team, USU is batting .284 (259-of-913). In the circle, sophomore Delaney Hull leads the pitching staff with a 5.86 ERA in 19 starts, while the three pitchers together have allowed 259 hits and 185 earned runs with a combined 6.20 ERA.
