LOGAN, Utah – Utah State softball (11-17, 2-3 MW) will take a short day trip across state lines Wednesday, April 3, as the Aggies take on the Bengals of Idaho State (13-17, 4-1 Big Sky) at 3 p.m.
There will not be a video stream of Wednesday's game, but live stats will be available.
Idaho State opens the week with a 13-17 overall record, including a 4-1 Big Sky ledger. The Bengals welcome the Aggies off a Big Sky series at Montana, where they went 2-1 (3-2, 6-1, 3-4) against the Grizzlies. As a team, Idaho State is batting .239 (181-of-756), led by senior infielder Aubrey Creekmore, who is hitting .455 (20-of-44). The Bengals have scored 91 runs this year, tallying 81 RBIs and allowing 144 runs. Four pitchers have seen time in the circle for Idaho State, posting a combined ERA of 4.14. Freshman Autumn Pease leads the group with a 2.48 ERA and a 7-3 individual record in 79 innings pitched.
Candi Letts is in her third season as the head coach at Idaho State, where she has an overall record of 72-101. Letts was the head coach at Utah State from 2007-09. Utah State leads the all-time series against Idaho State, 27-17. USU also has the lead in games played in Pocatello, up 11-6.
For the Aggies, junior outfielder Riley Plogger leads the team at the plate, batting .359 (28-of-78). As a team, USU is batting .283 (207-of-731). In the circle, sophomore Delaney Hull leads the pitching staff with a 5.83 ERA in 15 starts, while the three pitchers have allowed 214 hits and 147 earned runs with a combined 6.12 ERA.
