LOGAN, Utah – Utah State softball (13-25, 4-14 MW) is set for its final road series of the Mountain West season this weekend as it plays at San José State (29-15, 9-6 MW). The Aggies and Spartans will open the weekend on Friday, April 26, at 7 p.m. (MT), followed by a 1 p.m. game on Saturday, April 27. The series will conclude on Sunday, April 28, at noon.
All of the 2019 Mountain West games, and all of Utah State's home games, will continue to be broadcast as a USU Athletics Production on the Mountain West Network. All video feeds will be available live and in archive form at utahstateaggies.com/watch. Live stats will also be provided by SIDEARM for all home games, while road contests will also have live stats available. Links to each option will be available online prior to every game. In-game updates will also be provided through the team's social media outlets. Admission to Utah State home games is free.
San José State opens the week with a 29-15 record, including a 9-6 slate in Mountain West play. As a team, San José State is batting .267 (313-of-1,171), led by freshman pitcher Jenessa Ullegue who is hitting .358 (34-of-95). Six pitchers have seen time in the circle for San José State, posting a combined ERA of 2.96. Ullegue leads the group with a 2.05 ERA and a 13-4 individual record in 102.2 innings of work.
Peter Turner is in his 13th season as the head coach at San José State, where he has an all-time record of 384-323. SJSU leads the all-time series against Utah State, 43-32, including a 23-14 lead in games played in San Jose.
For the Aggies, freshman shortstop Lexi Orozco leads the team at the plate, batting .382 (42-of-110), including 13 home runs and seven doubles. As a team, USU is batting .282 (284-of-1,007). In the circle, sophomore Delaney Hull leads the pitching staff with a 6.11 ERA in 20 starts, while the three pitchers together have allowed 310 hits and 207 earned runs with a combined 6.25 ERA.
