LOGAN, Utah – Utah State senior outfielder Mia Maher has been named to the 2019 Google Cloud Academic All-District First Team, representing District 8.
The 2019 Google Cloud Academic All-District Softball Team, selected by CoSIDA, recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom.
Maher is the fifth Aggie in program history to earn Academic all-District honors, and the first since the 2013 season. She is one of seven Mountain West players to be recognized this season, joining three players from Colorado State and one each from Nevada, New Mexico and UNLV.
Entering the final weekend of her career, Maher graduated from Utah State last week with a degree in animal, dairy and veterinary science. She completed her degree with a 3.96 grade point average. Maher leaves USU ranking second all-time in stolen bases with 50. She appeared in 146 games in her career, tallying 23 hits and scoring 48 runs.
First-team Academic All-District honorees advance to the Google Cloud Academic All-America ballot, with first-, second- and third-team honorees set to be announced in June.
