LOGAN, Utah – Utah State head football coach Gary Andersen announced Wednesday the addition of Nick Heninger to the Aggie football program. Heninger will be a junior this fall and have two years of eligibility remaining.
 
Heninger, a 6-foot-2, 245-pound defensive end from South Jordan, Utah (Bingham HS), has spent the past three seasons at Utah as he appeared in 23 career games. Overall, he recorded 13 tackles, including 1.0 sacks and 2.0 tackles for loss, while adding two fumble recoveries and two pass breakups. Additionally, he twice earned academic all-Pac-12 honors.
 
Heninger earned Utah Class 5A first-team all-state honors at linebacker as he was named the Region 3 Defensive MVP as a senior in 2013. As a prep senior, he recorded 83 tackles, which included 5.0 sacks, while adding nine pass breakups, four forced fumbles and one interception. During his senior season, he helped Bingham HS win the 5A state championship and a top-20 national ranking. Heninger also wrestled in high school and was the state champion at 195 pounds as a senior.
