Utah State soccer (4-3-0) will close out its non-conference slate this week, hosting Idaho State (1-6-1) on Sunday, Sept. 22, at 1 p.m., at Chuck & Gloria Bell Field.

Last Time Out
Utah State split its two-match road trip in Illinois last week with a 2-1 loss at Illinois State, followed by a 1-0 victory at UIC. Against the Redbirds, junior Amber Marshall scored her first goal of the season, but Illinois State was able to answer the equalizer in the second half with the game winner. Against the Flames, freshman Megan Astle became the ninth Aggie to score a goal this season, striking the game winner from about 30 yards in the 32nd minute.
Looking at Idaho State
Idaho State is 1-6-1 on the year and will play at Gonzaga on Friday, Sept. 20, before making the trip to Logan. The Benglas have lost four of their last five, including losses to Mountain West foes Boise State, 1-0, and Wyoming, 4-1.
Idaho State has scored six goals this season, with six different players each scoring one goal apiece. Senior Makena Bambei and sophomore Karlin Wurlitzer are tied for the team lead with two assists each, as the Bengals have assisted five of the six goals this year. Senior Katie Hogarth has played every minute in goal for the Bengals, logging 750 minutes, carrying a goals-against-average of 1.92 and totaling 50 saves.
The Series with Idaho State
Utah State leads the all-time series against the Bengals, 10-6-1, and has won four of the last five matches. Idaho State was victorious in the last meeting between the two schools during the 2018 season, posting a 5-4 win in double overtime in Pocatello. Then-freshman Sara Noel recorded a hat trick against the Bengals during the match, scoring goals in the 54th, 71st and 88th minute, respectively.

Utah State has totaled 10 goals on the year with nine different Aggies logging at least one goal. Junior defender Imelda Williams leads USU with two goals, each a game winner.
