RENO, Nev. - Utah State soccer played in its second double-overtime contest in as many matches, but found itself on the other side of the win/loss column as the Aggies lost a 1-0 decision at Nevada on Sunday afternoon. The Wolf Pack scored the game winner in the 105th minute as the teams combined for 48 shots during the match.
With the loss, Utah State is now 6-4-0 on the year, including a 1-1-0 mark to begin its Mountain West slate. The victory moved the Wolf Pack to 2-7-0 and 1-1-0 in Mountain West play.
The game winner by Nevada with 104:32 showing on the clock marked the first goal conceded by USU freshman keeper Diera Walton in more than 422 minutes of play, as Walton finished the match with seven saves. Wolf Pack keeper Kendal Stovall logged 10 saves on 24 Utah State shots.
Utah State senior Ashley Cardozo peppered the Nevada goal during the match with seven shots, including four on frame, followed by freshmen midfielders Sid Barlow and Megan Astle with three shots piece.
Utah State will be back in action next weekend, continuing a four-match road swing with stops at Fresno State on Thursday, Oct. 3, followed by a contest at San José State on Sunday, Oct. 6.
