FORT COLLINS, Colo. - Utah State women's basketball (6-14, 1-8 Mountain West) lost, 56-55, to Colorado State (10-10, 4-5 MW) inside Moby Arena in Fort Collins, Colo., on Saturday.
The Aggies were led by senior forward
Marlene Aniambossou with a career-high 16 points and sophomore guard
Steph Gorman with 13 points. Senior forward
Hailey Bassett recorded her fourth double-double of the season with 12 points and 10 rebounds.
USU outrebounded CSU, 35-19. However, the Aggies had 20 turnovers which resulted in 21 points for the Rams.
Colorado State was led by graduate forward Makenzie Ellis with 13 points.
USU shot 46.5 percent (20-of-43) from the field, 28.6 percent (4-of-14) from behind the arc and 73.3 percent (11-of-15) at the free throw line. CSU shot 41.1 percent (23-of-56) from the floor, 28.6 percent (6-of-21) from behind the 3-point line and 66.7 percent (4-of-6) at the free throw line.
Utah State returns to the Dee Glen Smith Spectrum to host Wyoming (9-9, 5-4 MW) on Wednesday, Jan. 29, at 7 p.m.
