Utah State Football Announces 2021 Early Signing Class

LOGAN, Utah – Utah State head football coach Blake Anderson announced portions of his first signing class on Wednesday, as part of the NCAA Early Signing Day.
 
Of the four announced players, three will enroll at Utah State in January for the 2021 spring semester. Additionally, three of the four signees are return missionaries.
 
Furthermore, all four signees are from the state of Utah and all are defensive players as two are defensive linemen, to go along with one defensive back and one linebacker.
 
Utah State will announce its complete 2021 signing class on Wednesday, Feb. 3.


2021 Utah State Football Signees Biographical Information

Johnson Hansen                     DL • 6-3 • 270 • FR • HS • Salt Lake City, Utah (East HS)

High School: Three-star prospect and the 29th-best recruit in the state of Utah according to 247Sports.com… Earned Utah Class 6A honorable mention all-state honors from the Salt Lake Tribune as a defensive lineman as a prep senior at East High School in Salt Lake City, Utah... As a senior in 2017, he helped the Leopards to an 11-3 record and a Region 3 championship with a 5-0 record... Lost in the state championship game to Bingham HS... Finished his senior season with 117 tackles, which included 15.5 sacks, while adding two fumble recoveries... Had four double-digit tackle outings during his senior season with a career-high 13 stops against Taylorsville HS, while adding 12 tackles against Saguaro HS and 10 stops against both Bingham HS and IMG Academy... Recorded at least 1.0 sacks in 11 games during the season, including a career-high 3.0 sacks against Taylorsville HS... Added one reception for nine yards at tight end... During his junior season, he recorded 52 tackles and 4.0 sacks, which included a season-best 10 tackles against Highland HS... Also added an interception against Clearfield HS... Offensively, he caught three passes for 144 yards and two touchdowns, which included a pair of 68-yard scores against both Clearfield HS and Skyline HS... Had eight tackles, including one sack, and one interception during his sophomore season.

Personal: Son of Robert and Mosiana Hansen... Has nine brothers and sisters... Served a two-year mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Nukualofa, Tonga... Originally signed with the Aggies in 2018... Will enroll at Utah State for the 2021 spring semester.
 

Ike Larsen                                DB • 5-11 • 160 • FR • HS • Smithfield, Utah (Sky View HS)

High School: Three-star prospect and the 24th-best recruit in the state of Utah according to 247Sports.com… Earned first-team all-state honors as a defensive back from MaxPreps.com and the Deseret News as a senior at Sky View High School in Smithfield, Utah... Helped the Bobcats to their second-straight 4A state championship in 2020 as he was named his team's MVP... As a senior, he posted 55 tackles, to go along with four interceptions, two forced fumbles and one fumble recovery... Returned two of his interceptions for touchdowns and blocked nine kicks during the year... Offensively, he had 762 all-purpose yards as he caught 24 passes for 565 yards (23.5 ypr) and five touchdowns, and carried the ball 19 times for 197 yards (10.4 ypc) and four touchdowns... Earned second-team all-state honors as a defensive back from the Deseret News as a junior at Logan (Utah) High School… In 11 games, he caught 35 passes for 548 yards and six touchdowns, recorded 62 tackles (47 solo), intercepted seven passes, broke up seven more, forced a trio of fumbles and recovered two more... Finished with 10 touchdowns during the 2019 campaign as he scored touchdowns on offense, defense and special teams... Sione Moa                                 LB • 6-1 • 210 • FR • HS • Ogden, Utah (Weber HS)

High School: Three-star prospect and the 25th-best recruit in the state of Utah according to 247Sports.com… Earned Utah Class 6A honorable mention all-state and first-team all-Region 1 honors while playing wide receiver and outside linebacker as a prep senior at Weber High School in Pleasant View, Utah… During his senior season in 2018, he ranked second on the team with 27 catches for 370 yards and two touchdowns, to go along with 58 tackles, including 6.0 sacks, to rank second on the team… Helped lead Weber HS to a 7-4 overall record and appearance in the 2018 6A state playoffs… Recorded one sack in six different games… Had a career-high 11 tackles in the Warriors' 35-14 win over Granger HS… Best receiving game of the season was against Alta HS, as he caught five passes for a career-high 102 yards… Caught a career-best seven passes for 99 yards and a touchdown during his junior season against Davis HS… Finished his prep career with 84 receptions for 1,015 yards and five touchdowns, to go along with 62 tackles... Was also on the basketball and track & field team at Weber HS... Was a member of the honor roll. 

Personal: Son of Ben and Christina Moa... His dad played football at Utah... Also has two uncles that played football at BYU and Utah... Served a two-year mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Kingston, Jamaica... Originally signed with the Aggies in 2019... Seni Tuiaki                                 DL • 6-2 • 250 • FR • HS • Salt Lake City, Utah (East HS)

High School: Three-star prospect and the 21st-best recruit in the state of Utah according to 247Sports.com… Recorded 24 tackles, including 1.0 sacks, during his senior campaign at East High School in Salt Lake City, Utah… As a senior in 2017, he helped the Leopards finish 11-3 overall and reach the championship game of the 6A state playoffs… Was a member of the East HS team that captured the 4A state title in 2016, beating Springville HS 48-20 to end the season a perfect 14-0… A team captain… Also wrestled at East HS and was a member of the club rugby and volleyball teams… Was also an Eagle Scout and member of the High Honor Roll.

Personal: One of five children of Sione and Seini Tuiaki... Served a two-year mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Buenos Aires, Argentina... Originally signed with the Aggies in 2018... Will enroll at Utah State for the 2021 spring semester... Name is pronounced Sen-ee Too-ee-uh-kee.
