Utah State Women's Basketball Loses 67-61 to Colorado State

LOGAN, Utah - Utah State women's basketball (7-18, 2-12 Mountain West) lost, 67-61, to Colorado State (11-13, 5-8 MW) inside the Dee Glen Smith Spectrum on Wednesday.

Senior forward Marlene Aniambossou was perfect from the field with a career-high 18 points, hitting 5-for-5 from the field, 2-for-2 from behind the arc and 6-for-6 at the free throw line. Aniambossou's two 3-pointers were her first makes from behind the arc in her career.

Senior guard Lindsey Jensen-Baker and freshman guard Kamalu Kamakawiwo'ole also scored in double figures with 13 and 12 points, respectively. Aniambossou and Kamakawiwo'ole also led the Aggies on the glass with six rebounds each. 

Aniambossou and Kamakawiwo'ole both came off the bench, outscoring the Rams' reserves, 30-5. The Aggies also outrebounded the Rams, 34-25. However, Colorado State was able to convert USU's 13 turnovers to 28 points, and made a season-high 15 3-pointers in the game.

Colorado State was led by redshirt junior guard/forward Jamie Bonnarens with 20 points.

USU shot 41.7 percent (20-of-48) from the field, 45.0 percent (9-of-20) from behind the arc and 85.7 percent (12-of-14) at the free throw line. CSU shot 43.1 percent (22-of-51) from the floor, 48.4 percent (15-of-31) from behind the 3-point line and 61.5 percent (8-of-13) at the free throw line. 

Utah State will next host league-leading Fresno State (20-4, 13-0 MW) on Saturday, Feb. 15, at 2 p.m.
