LOGAN, Utah – After opening the season with four straight meets away from home, Utah State's gymnastics team is set to open the home portion of its schedule on Friday, Feb. 7, against Boise State at the Dee Glen Smith Spectrum.
"We are so excited to be back home in the Spectrum," said third-year Utah State head coach
Amy Smith. "We had a great week of practice and we are thrilled to go out there Friday night in front of our own fans and compete against Boise State."
The Mountain Rim Gymnastics Conference dual meet featuring the Aggies (1-6, 0-4 MRGC) and Broncos (2-3, 0-1 MRGC) will begin at 7 p.m., and will be streamed live at www.utahstateaggies.com/watch.
Additionally, live stats will be available online at utahstateaggies.com and fans can also follow the Utah State gymnastics social media outlets for meet updates.
Utah State is 34-6 all-time in home openers, a record that takes several multi-team meets into account. Boise State has been a part of nine home openers for USU and the Aggies are 8-1 against the Broncos in those meets.
"It is so exciting to be back in the Spectrum," said senior bars specialist
Brittany Jeppesen. "I love competing at home. It's fun when we travel, but that doesn't even compare to our home meets. It's so fun being in front of our crowd and using our equipment. I am so excited, and I know the team is, too."
