LOS ANGELES, Calif. - Utah State men's tennis (3-10) lost, 6-1, to Loyola Marymount (4-7) on Monday in Los Angeles, Calif. 

LMU earned the doubles point after seniors Ryan Brown and Max Kaiser defeated freshmen Christian Holmes and Roko Savin, 6-1, at the No. 3 spot, and junior Diego Nava and sophomore Keenan Mayo won, 6-4, at the No. 1 spot against junior Felipe Acosta and freshman Javier Ruiz. Senior Sergiu Bucur and freshman Arvid Hjalte were trailing, 5-3, at the No. 2 spot, but the match was left unfinished as Loyola Marymount had clinched the doubles point.

In singles play, Bucur lost, 6-2, 6-3, at the No. 2 spot to Nava. LMU sophomore Austin Di Giulio then defeated Ruiz, 6-4, 6-1, at the No. 3 spot. The Lions clinched the win when Kaiser took the 6-4, 6-3 victory at the No. 4 spot over Hjalte. 

The remaining singles matches were played out. Acosta lost his first set, 6-1, to Mayo at the top spot, before coming back to win the second, 6-3. Mayo won the match in the third set, 6-2. Holmes then posted a straight-set victory, 7-6, 7-6, over junior Ethan Prost at the No. 5 spot. Savin won his first set, 7-6, but lost the next two, 6-2, 10-6, to freshman Emin Torlic at the No. 6 spot.

Utah State continues its California trip by taking on Santa Clara (4-7) on Wednesday, March 11, at 3 p.m. (MT), in Santa Clara, Calif.
