The Aggies got off to a strong start, winning the first set, 25-11. They followed that with a 25-19 victory in the second. The Falcons came back to pick up their only win of the day in the third set, 25-17, but USU responded well to close the match in a dominant 25-14 win in the fourth.
Utah State had several hot hitters Saturday, led by junior middle blocker

Utah State dominated the match early on, leading by as many as 12, sparked by an 8-0 run. The Falcons climbed back a bit, but could never get into the groove. Air Force scored first in the second, but that would be its only lead of the set, as the Aggies carried their momentum over. The Falcons figured out the Aggie gameplan a bit more in the third set, jumping out a 6-2 lead. USU chipped away throughout the set, but was unable to catch Air Force. The Aggies controlled the final set, never trailing. The team went on a 7-1 scoring run to close things out, with Vaivai securing the winning point on a service ace.
